Happy 15th birthday, Finnish School of Seattle!
Kuten tiedätte, Seattlen Suomi Koulu juhlii tänä vuonna 15-vuotista taivaltaan. Juhlistaminen jaettiin kahteen osaan: lapsille tarkoitettuun luistelutapahtumaan sekä 13.11. aikuisille järjestettävään juhlaan (voit vielä ilmoittautua jos et ole sitä ehtinyt jo tehdä).
As you know, the Finnish School of Seattle celebrates its 15-year anniversary this year. Celebration was divided into two special days: the skating event for children, and the celebration on November 13 that is aimed at adults (you can still sign up for the party if you have not had the chance to do so yet.)
Lauantaina Rentonin Castle Ice-jäähalli oli täynnä innokkaita suomikoululaisia odottamassa pääsyä varta vasten koululle varatulle jäälle.
On Saturday the Castle Ice arena in Renton was teeming with excited students and parents from the Finnish school, waiting to get on the ice that was reserved for the school.
Opettajat järjestivät jäällä vapaan luistelun lisäksi hauskoja luisteluleikkejä.
In addition to free skating, the teachers had prepared fun skating games for everyone.
Nilkkojen pakotukseen auttoi piipahdus koululle varattuun huoneeseen, jossa kaakao sekä syntymäpäiväkakku odottivat urheilijoita.
Once ankles were ready to take a break from skating the athletes could pop in the room reserved for the school, where hot chocolate and a birthday cake were waiting for them.
