Suomen 93. itsenäisyyspäivää juhlittiin virallisesti 6.12., mutta Suomi-koululla sitä vietettiin paria päivää aiemmin lauantaina. Koulupäivän alussa kokoonnuimme kaikki yhteen, ja saimme nähdä salissa ensin vanhimpien ryhmän lippukulkueen sisäänmarssin "Porilaisten marssi" -sävelten siivittämänä. Ryhmä esitti kuulijoille Itsenäisyyspäivän runon siitä, mitä Suomessa voi tehdä eri vuodenaikoina. Itsenäisyyspäivän hetki päätettiin tietenkin Maamme-lauluun.

The 93rd Finnish Independence day was officially December 6, but it was celebrated at the school a couple of days earlier on Saturday. We got together in the sanctuary at the beginning of the school day and first saw, how the oldest group marched in with the flag in the tune of "Porilaisten marssi." The group performed an Independence day poem about what one can do in Finland during various seasons. Our moment for Finnish independence ended in the singing of the national anthem, Maamme.
